Formula DRIFT Insider 2012 Ep8
seems like each episode becomes more and more of a chance to just explain why the judges did what they did. please dont use these videos to justify why the judges did what they did, or explain the new rules that you are always implementing. just show us some INSIDER information or behind the scenes things that we dont get to see.

Formula DRIFT insider 2012 Ep 7
this episode touches on the JTP/Saito indecent, I think JTP and other drivers need to take a step back and realize that they are in a competition. In every competition around the world there is strategy behind it, and Daigo has every right to use some sort of strategy to win.Tanner Foust is a great example of someone that used strategy/intimidation to beat people. he had one of the fastest cars at the time with an 800+ NASCAR V8, and he was using his brakes too. Its all just a part of strategy. all the top major funded teams out there have to money to build a 1200 HP car, Daigo is the only one that did it. Dont be mad cause he has that much power. Plus its not just having the power its having the skill too. Tony B has a freshly built motor with a ton of power and its not really helping him. I myself would love to see a horsepower cap of 500 i think thats plenty fair. Formula Drift is skewing slowly away from entertaining people that are drifters to people that just want to hear loud cars and see lots of smoke. I know that what sell the tickets though, but come on now look how far away from the original Formula D we have gotten. PASSING ZONES, 2 tires off or 3 off, its a deduction if you tap the clipping point weather it be the wall or the cone, and the judges inconsistent scoring and what seems like favoritism or influence from major sponsors. its becoming more and more of a joke for the true drift enthusiast out there. that's why i say we all just keep taking to the streets. KEEP DRIFTING FUN! Remember that dirt drops are cool even if FD doesn't like them, and there is a reason we all zip tie our bumpers on. its so we can rip them off while we are drifting.
in conclusion this rant was not made to piss people off, nor to bag on drivers. I LOVE JTP and think he is a great driver, probably one of the best on the FD tour. but he just needs to remember that its a competition. i cant even imagine the pressure he is under from his big name sponsors, and im sure they are breathing down his neck about winning, and its not a place i would like to be. But remember he put himself in the position when he signed up to be a pro drifter and have that be the way he brings home the bacon. just like the movie stars that i dont feel sorry for when they get blasted by the paparazzi, its there choice to make millions and be in the spotlight.
I don't hate V8s
I don't LOVE Daigo
I don't care if there are mustangs in an import scene
I LOVE DRIFTING.
I just wanted to open peoples eyes to The road FD is heading down.
REMEMBER you don't have to agree with me, or believe anything is write. Its strictly my own interpretation, and my own opinion if you don't like it go make you own blog

Behind the Smoke 2 - Ep 8 Palm Beach Rain Drifting and Wrecking - Dai Yoshihara 2012
http://www.facebook.com/gtchannel After a devastating defeat at Formula Drift round 2 Atlanta, Dai flew to Malaysia to judge FD Asia. But he's back in the States to take on round 3 Palm Beach. There are sour memories of Palm Beach from last year when he was knocked out at top 32 but this time around he can't afford to miss the podium. Both first place JTP and second place Daigo Saito lead the overall standings and could leave Dai behind if he doesn't perform well this round. He's off to a rough start as it starts raining minutes before his qualifying run... http://www.netflix.com/gtchannel for a free 30 day trial. Behind the Smoke gives a look into the real life of 2011 Formula Drift champion, Daijiro Yoshihara. GTChannel's cameras follow Dai throughout the 2012 FD season both on and off the track giving drifting fans an exclusive look into what it takes to compete in the top professional drifting series of N.America. Behind the Smoke is produced by GTChannel in association with Discount Tire/America's Tire and supported by Falken Tire, GoPro and Netflix

Behind the Smoke S2 Ep4
Cool video with some interesting insights on Dais car. Its crazy that they moved the suspesion points to decrease binding, and stop the motor movement from affecting the way the car reacts. very cool stuff going on in the yoshihara camp, too bad they didnt make it to top 16. Maybe if they didnt practice on the old atlanta layout then they might have done better j/k.
